Which stitch is best?

Hi…
I just got finish knitting my first baby blanket and I knitted it in different pieces. I was wondering if someone could recommend a specific stitch to sew the pieces together. I was looking for something that is the least visible on both sides of the blanket.

I find it covers most seaming techniques, but obviously it depends on what your blankets edging is like?
