How many stitches depends on what width you want, and how many sts/inch you get with size 9 needles on the yarn you want to use. As to which pattern… do you want even stripes or just a few thin ones…
Well, I just didnt know which one of those two looked nicer for a guy…
As for the other stuff, I can kinda adjust.
I vote for the first one! I think it is a little classier!
you might just have to cast on and do a few rows and see how you like it! I’m not experienced enough to tell you ie: how many stitchs it takes with worsted weight yarn to make a 4 inch scarf?
If it’s a scarf for a guy, you’d want to make it wider than 4", 6 or 7 more likely.
I love both scarves, but if I had to choose I think I’d choose the 2nd one with the strips only on the ends.
I prefer the second one–think simple is better for a guy.
