Which increase stitch to use in tiny pants?

I’m just winging it and making my baby some pants. I finished the ribbing at the bottom of one leg and am starting the k and p rows with and increase. I was putting the increase on the end, but I’m afraid the pants will not look right. Should I be putting the increases in the middle as shown in the video section? If so, which one should I use? I don’t understand the applications of all the increase stitches as shown.

You probably should put an increase on each end, so the legs widen out evenly. If you’re seaming you can just knit in the front and back of the first and last stitch.
