Which increase stitch is best for this pattern?

Hello everyone! Newbie here (to knitting and knittinghelp.com) and I’m making a cape (a super hero cape to be exact).

On row 6 the pattern directions are as follows: *inc 1 in next st, k3, repeat from * to end

My question is which increase stitch should I do? While looking at Amy’s videos in the basic techniques section there are a few to choose from.

Welcome to the Forum! You’ve found the right place!

When a pattern says to increase IN the next stitch, I use the kfb (knit in front and back of next stitch) since it uses a stitch. Other increases are between stitches and will throw your count off if you don’t take that into account.
