Which do you recommend?

When making hats, which co method do you prefer? I’ve made a few hats and the co edge never seems stretchy enough. I’ve used backward loop and longtail. Are there any better ones or should I just cast on longtail with 2 needles?

I just use a loose tong tail co. Seems to work out just fine for me.

I use longtail too, but I use a needle size larger.

Try the german twisted cast on. Very similar to longtail, but stretchier:

I’m another fan of the long tail - I also use a bigger needle for the cast on.
