Which Cast on to use for underarm

I am knitting a top down baby sweater and am ready to start the body … K to marker, sm, slip sts between markers onto a holder for sleeve, remove 2nd marker, CO 5 stitches for underarm, place maker, etc. WHAT would be the most appropriate cast on to use please and why. Thank you.

Use the knit cast on; it’s loose enough to pick up sts in, but not so loose you’ll get extra loops of yarn.

Thank you. I will do. One extra question … the entire row is as follows: K to makrer, sm, slip sts between markers onto a holder for sleeve, remove 2nd marker, CO 5 sts for underarm, place marker, REPEAT for second sleeve, K to end.
My ?? is for second sleeve. I assume to slip stitches first and then CO 5 - OR because it’s the second sleeve, do I do the CO first and then slip the sleeve stitches on a holder? I am not doing this in the round. thanks in advance

I’ve looked for a video on how to do the knit cast on, but I can’t find how to do it in the middle of a row - just at the beginning … this pattern is knit all in one with yoke and raglan sleeves. I feel dense at this moment!

Ok, ignore my other questions - I think I have it all figured out. When you suggested the knitted cast on for the underarms after I put the first sleeve stitches on a holder, I wasn’t sure how to do it. I was working on the right side and couldn’t figure out how to do the 5 new cast ons … long story short I put my right hand needle in the my left hand with the WS facing me, added my cast ons using the last knitted stitch before the sleeve. I continued knitting the back section, put the other sleeve stitches on a holder, flipped it to the wrong side again, did my 5 new cast ons and continuted knitting to the end. Sure hope I did it right but I couldn’t think of any other way to do it.

Yep, swap the needles, CO and swap them back. And for the other question, put the sleeve sts on the holder the same way for the 2nd sleeve as for the first, then CO.
