I’m making a felted bag. It’s my first felting project. It’s “Meema’s Bag” from the original Stitch n’ Bitch book.
Where would you buy large snaps to put on a felted bag and how do you get them on there anyways?
TIA,

I’m not sure if this is what you had in mind, but it’s a start.
If you Google sew-on snaps, lots of places come up. I’d imagine that someplace like Joann’s–any fabric store, really–would carry sew on ones.
i got them at Joann’s…or Hancocks…one of those. I would say though, the magnetic closure i got for one bag was so strong that i had to use my fingernails to pry them apart. otherwise it would have ripped out my lining.
BTW Brenda–LOVE the Hobbes!
Thanks Ingrid. I’ll check those out.
If I get sew-on snaps, um, duh, but how do I sew those on? After felting? Would I sew with thread or yarn?
TIA again,
I would do it after felting, just in case they didn’t line up properly. I think what you sew them up with is optional, though. It really depends on how big the holes in the snap rim are.
I’ve never sewn on snaps, but when I sewed on the handles to my felted bag I used clear thread.
My lys sells the magnetic closure, so you may want to check your lys. I bought a bag from a garage sale for $1 —& cut the snap out. (not hard to get out and easy as pie to reuse.)

Thanks, all. That’s very helpful.
