I am knitting a patterned baby cardigan (0-3 months) that has a ribbed bottom. I am knitting the pattern from the chart, but am stuck on the instruction to ‘continue in pattern until 36 rows have been worked in pattern from top of welt’.
I have knitted 36 rows from the top of the grey ribbing in this pic. So not sure if that is what it means by the top of the welt? I am not sure what the welt is?!
Or could it mean 36 rows from the top of the leaf pattern?
The next step is to divide the work for back and front, and then shape armholes, so that suggests this should be long enough to go up to bottom of armholes.
Thanks in advance for any help on this!!
