Where am I losing 3 stitches?

Newish knitter here, trying my first lace!

The pattern I’m using has 45 stitches in each row. But I keep ending up with 42 in this row, no matter what I do (and 45 stitches are definitely required to make the next row work).

Here is my tricky row:
p2, *k3, yfwd, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yfwd, k3, p1, k1b, p1, sm, k1, sm, p1, k1b, p1, rep from * to last 11 st, k3, yfwd, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yfwd, k3, p2.

At first I thought I was losing them at psso, but after trying a few variations and none working, I think it’s the yfwd.

…Or perhaps I am entirely wrong!

Any ideas? All suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance.

Welcome!
It might be the yfwd which is a yarn over and should create and extra loop over the needle. Bring the yarn to the front between the needles then over the right needle to the back. That’s all it is. There’s no extra stitch involved.
The 2 yfwd will each create a stitch and the sl1, k2tog, psso will decrease 2sts so the repeat will balance out with no inc or dec.
You could try placing markers on either side of the “yfwd, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yfwd”. It takes 3sts and will leave you with 3sts when completed.
