When to alternate skeins

Hi Everyone!

I have been knitting a lot of small, quick things lately, and now feel as though I am ready for a bigger project again. I have this beautiful Louisa Harding yarn that I bought on sale back in January, and I am going to knit a sweater with it. The yarn is a variegated angora/wool blend. I have heard that you should alternate between skeins of varigated yarn to avoid pooling- how often do you think I should alternate, and where should I do it- at the beginning of a row? I love this yarn and want to do it justice by making the sweater right!!

I would alternate every 4-5 rows. Although if it’s an adult sweater, you may find that you don’t have much pooling.

I find it easiest to alternate skeins every other row when working flat. You go back and forth with one skein, and then back and forth with the other. If you are working in the round, I would switch every other row. I like doing it that way so that the yarn carried up the work isn’t too long.
