I had visitors come to visit me all the way from Newport in Wales .
Nobones and her lovely hubby Mike came to see us here in London . We had a great day and it was brilliant to actually meet after a whole year of emailing and phone calls .
My son had a lovely present and we had Lunch out and the visit would not have been complete if we did not visit the LYS , so we did lol .
Here are some pics . One of me and Nobones waiting for our lunch and One of my knitted fairy with my dr who doll and Nobones Fairy which came to visit too. I thought they looked great together
Also one of Her hubby Mike taking his Dr Who Doll home
A wonderful day had by all :):yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
How brilliant you all had a great day. Did you buy anything at the LYS. Love the photo of the fairy’s and Dr Who. Great that he has gone to a good home.
It was great day Karina We did not buy any yarn but i think we bought each other enough .We had a little swap of yarn pressies lol .
Dr Who has gone to a great home and i know he will be looked after .
We both had such a lovely day and Rita’s son Luke is just the loveliest little boy we have ever met, we just wanted to take him home (don’t think Rita would have been too impressed by that though!)
Hubby does love his new Doctor toy, we were driving home and he was making it wave at other cars at we went by, he’s such a big kid.
I’ve already cast on with some of the goodies I got from Rita, I have to knit a bit and then post my progress.
Thanks Hun for such a lovely day and spoiling us such rotten!
It is really exciting to actually meet someone like that…
Infact i will be going to Wales in a few weeks to see my fatherinlaw so i will pop in and have coffee with Ellie then.
So more knitting natter lol
I am envious! Some internet, gardening friends and I actually got together a couple of years ago in Utah. Our friend, Dixie had a horsefarm. She had horses for each of us…there were 5 of us. We took off from her house, rode the horses into the nearby mountains and camped for 4 days. It was unusual as we had no running water or facilities and we had to learn these things…had a super time and these friends and I have all become very close. It was one of those wonderful, once in a lifetime experiences that I will always cherish. I, am from SC, one girl from Wisconsin, two from Utah and one from Nebraska…wonderful friends! Our families, of course, thought we were nuts and warned us that one might be a closet axe murderer…we had lots of laughs about that and agreed to leave our chainsaws, axes and other weapons at home for the event! LOL!
Whenever I read about others doing this it brings back such sweet memories and I’m grateful for the sharing! Maybe one year, I’ll venture out to the UK~
Oh what a great story Mary ! It sounds like you had some great fun and made friends for life .
We also kept our axes at home locked away for the day lol
After a full day with my hubby I wouldn’t have blamed Rita for getting the axe out!
MamaDawn some of the drivers did wave back! They was a convoy of VW Camper bags, they found it most entertaining! Mike has named him ‘Dr Wool’ and he’s having his own adventures! Did I mention my hubby is 36 (going on 7!)
