I may be able to afford these yarns …:rofl:

I was reading the Knitting snobs thread and was shocked to see yarns that sold for as much as $300 a skein. :chair:I couldnt believe it!

Who knits with these yarns?! has anybody here knit with a yarn like that?

have you come across any super rare or super luxuary ( read super expensive)yarns out there?

The most expensive I’ve knit with is a 50% camel hair/lambs wool blend. In 1980 it was over $10 a 50g skein. It is amazingly soft. The only reason I could afford it is that my hsband traded his labor for yarn and I was able to get some nice yarns at that time. No way would I consider paying a lot for yarn today.

Nooooo I have never even felt a yarn that expensive much less knit with it! I’d be terrified! :zombie:

Even if I had the cash I wouldn’t buy it. Like Jan said, I would be too scared to use it.

Da-ang!!!:oo::oo: I’ve never even seen that expensive of a yarn on the internet, let alone feel it. Even if I did win the lottery… I dont know, you’ve always got to have [I]some[/I] reality of how much things cost:teehee: I would hate myself if I botched it… much to stressful!

I would easily buy the Qiviut, it benefits Native Alaskan women from a tiny little village.

That’s crazy!!! I’m going to show it to my husband & tell him I want some! Then maybe he wont be so upset at all the other yarn purchases that aren’t anywhere CLOSE to that price! I’ll remind him its all about perspective - I COULD buy that if I wanted to!!!:wink:
