What's a frontband?

knitters,

as usual, i’ve no idea what the pattern is talking about. it says:

K to last 7 sts, decreasing 7 sts even spaced across, sl remaining 7 sts onto holder for frontband.

what does this mean? how do i do it?

when (if?) i’m done with this sweater, i will no doubt thank everyone of this forum in the acknowlegements.

The front bands are the parts where the buttons and buttonholes go, or the front edging if there aren’t any buttons.

Just slip them on a stitch holder or spare piece of yarn, or pin, or whatever you have to keep them from unraveling. You’ll probably knit a strip later and attach it as a collar.
