This morning I was thinking I might start over with another Snufflebean instead of this garter rib. The recipient doesn’t know I’m making the blanket, so there’s no rush. She doesn’t even know me, in fact! Facebook suggested a new friend who is married to my great nephew. They were married in January and had a baby girl in June. They don’t stay in touch with family (not even my brother, great-grandpa to the new baby). I told our family what I found on FB. No one had any idea! I see the mama is now Facebook friends with my brother, so he must have reached out. I thought the blanket would be a nice gesture.
Me too! This one is “Kitty” I made one in “Puppy Love”, which has blue specks, for a premie boy three years ago.
That’s a very thoughtful idea and a beautiful gift. Any one of those baby blankets is a treasure.
With giant magnifying glasses! ha ha!
I’m almost finished with this Premier Puzzle yarn (seashore color): The edges curl in, I have a smooth edge on it, slip first stitch, knit through back loop last stitch of every row. It’s not perfect, and my back was hurting, trying to arrange it neatly for a picture, but I wanted to show y’all the way the colors blend, in Seashore Premier puzzle yarn:
It is beautiful and collor blended perfect. I love it!!!
I liked the looks of the Everyday Bag and decided to make it using a cotton yarn from my stash. I’m very bad at keeping my stitches uniform using cotton yarn so I had to frog several times using several different cotton yarns. I finally settled on Filatura di Grosa Fancy since it’s a cotton blend with 3 strands of thick and thin making a tweed. This yarn hid uneven stitches but also hides the slip stitch feature. I still have to line it.
Those are the kind of gloves one needs to wear to the theatre, striking design and perfectly made!
I like the tweedy colour of the bag. If you wanted more pronounced slip stitches you could perhaps work a line of crochet slip stitch or sewn stitches (chain stitch?) in a single colour, directly next to the slip stitch column of knitting to highlight the design feature. It looks lovely as it is and I can also imagine it with a bold line of dark yarn, a deep blue or green, running up next to that line. Very nice.
These projects are a treat to see. The gloves are stunning and the bag is very beautifully worked. I love using cotton blends which lighten up the cotton so nicely.
I thought about stitching over the slipped stitches. Now that you mentioned it, I’ll give it a try. It can always be taken out if it doesn’t look right.
If stitching over the slip stitches looks a bit bulky try just next to it so you get a narrow double line. I think the slipped stitches in the cotton mix colours looks nice.
Good idea, thank you.
Che meraviglia io con questo punto ho fatto un vestito.
I am working on three separate ponchos for my three great grandchildren. I made them previously, but they’ve all grown out of them. The girls are from two different families, but they’re always together, so I can’t just make one. Always have to do three of everything.
Lucky kids getting such beautiful handmade gifts!
I bet they have fun dressing the same too.
Is that pattern hard to follow? Is it easy to make mistakes? I have a hard time paying attention to my knitting sometimes.
What is the name of the pattern?
what is the knitting pattern for the white blanket that used Baby Bee yarn?
