Whatcha' Knitting? November, 2024

It’s an exciting time of year for knitters or crocheters. We’re looking forward to holiday projects, planning handknit or crocheted gifts or searching for ideas and patterns. Maybe finally finishing up a WIP (work in progress).
What’s on your needles or hooks? What future projects do you have in mind?

November already?

I had a sweater ruined in the wash a while back back and, after sulking for some time, have finally cast on for a replacement. The ruined one was cashmere silk merino, the new version is a laundry-surviving acrylic. I spotted a recycled end of line acrylic in shades close enough to what I wanted and decided to go with practicality over luxury. I’m not convinced recycled acrylic will help the planet much, if at all, but it’s a small effort.
Last time I followed a pattern for size and shape, this time I’ve drafted it myself based on a few ideas and my gauge. So far it’s looking OK but there’s plenty of time for a disaster yet!

Finished Friday
Set this project down for a couple of months when it was just too hot to work on a large throw. It’s a chunky yarn so it went quickly when I was actively working on it. I wanted it slightly larger so I added 16 stitches to the width and bought 2 extra skeins of yarn.

This is Billowy Quilted Throw by Mama In A Stitch. Yarn is Lion Brand Hue+Me in 137Z Agave.

Wow @Pawsable that throw is gorgeous!

Good luck with the jumper @Creations

I finished the Spring Basket shawl this evening. I had to rechart, and chart (one side wasn’t charted at all), so many initial annoyances with this pattern, but it’s done and looks quite cool. We’ve got visitors at the moment so I’ll take pictures in a couple of days.

Just took a quick picture before giving it a soak. So pre blocking…

Looks great, really dramatic with the pattern and colours. Success!

The mosaic was easy, because the pattern is charted and written so poorly the best thing to do was just follow the repeat in the red box. It’s very frustrating when a paid for pattern clearly hasn’t been tech edited or tested.

Finally back to my Campside Classic cardi after doing lighter-weight summer projects.

I’m going to start this tomorrow https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/adventure-is-waiting
I have 2 skeins of Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply in Plump Imps, a beautifully rich purple plum colour that a knitty friend recommended.

The Adventure is Waiting is going to have a little break.

I’m earburned for Arella Seaton on Ravelry and she was looking for testers for a new shawl. I’ve done a few of her shawls, and it was everso pretty, so I put m name down and I got in as a late addition.
Going to stash dive in the morning.

Sorry newer to the forum. I’ll just leave this here and delete my previous thread. WIP, hoping to have this one done in a day or two. I have quite a few more to make but bare minimum is 2 more.

Goodness those look cosy! Welcome to the forum :kissing_heart:

I couldn’t wait until tomorrow, my stash is just irresistible
The pattern has mosaic and lace sections so I picked these. Martin’s Lab in Pop Goes My Heart and Banana.
I love Martin’s Lab, it winds like a dream and I have never had a knot or tangle in a skein.
