That was great tip about buttons. I found that I wasn’t too thrilled about doing the finishing techniques, I’d much rather just knit but it is obviously a necessary evil. I am now working on my first pair of socks. (Like real socks, not tube slippers, which I have done and just finished some booties for a new baby in the family). I am using dpns. I actually find them fun to use, at least so far. But socks were one of my new goals in knitting for the year.
Whatcha' Knitting, January 2022
Just finished headband and matching booties for new baby. First time for booties. Now on to big people socks. I think that will be a real challenge but gonna give it a try
Really cute booties and headband, KnittingGigi! I like the design on the booties which will actually stay on baby’s feet. The headband makes it an adorable ensemble.
Fun to see the poodle in progress. I love the fuzzy yarn you’re using. Looking forward to the complete dog!
Thanks, Salmonmac! The fluffy yarn is King Cole Truffle (this colour is Earl Grey).
Thanks. Appreciate the comment
Finally finished on the first poodle. The next one will be chocolate, with a cord collar. I’ve only got to alter the neck, so pretty pleased!
All he or she needs is a name! That’s so clever and so well done.

Love these. I knit that headband for charity but love the wool and the colors especially with the matching booties. Ehmmmm??. Maybe I should do a few sets like yours.
At last…
Knowing that January was very almost over has spurred me on to finally get the buttons onto this cardigan.
I was delayed by choosing buttons (which I love love love, grey and peach mother of pearl, they go with the yarn colours so nicely. It was worth the long search online.)
And I was further delayed by my button sewing anxiety, that was the biggy to overcome.Thank you to the members who have given me tips for buttons and encouraged me to get on with it!
The buttons are not sewn on brilliantly but neither are they too messy. In the right place and all facing the right direction - both bonuses! I don’t like the inside because I’ve sewn in grey yarn but that was the compromise, the inside could have been neater if I’d used orange but these buttons wanted grey.
Free Drops pattern So Serene, in 3 left over grey yarns and left over orange.
Looks grand! Enjoy wearing all the combinations.
You’ve made a beautiful job of both the buttons ( selection and placement) and creations!! They are all fabulous. I love the colours, they go so well together
Well Done
Thank you!
Beautiful!
You made her in the right color!
