I do not have any thing on my needles.
It looks great so far! I really hope things go well for you at the blocking!
Thanks!
hellencharless5, we would love to see photos of your projects, big or small!
Ooh I have this to do as one of my next projects, looks really good, how do you find the pattern?
You can get it on ravelry. Here’s a link!
Still working on shawl. Weirdly I took it apart and made a big mess but back on task now.
Having a hard physical health time because of summer.
I’m sorry to hear about the health problems. It makes everything that much harder and just magnifies knitting mistakes. Glad to hear that you’re back on target. We’re looking forward to a photo of the shawl and to better dayis.
Thanks so much. Yes. I will post once half way finished
I’ve been traveling with 2 projects. One crochet shawl “Chusta Eilo” in Plymouth Yakima (so soft!), for something fairly mindless during lectures. The pattern’s in Polish, but a chart’s a chart.
And my local group is doing a KAL for the Marsha shawl by Jody Long… named after the owner of my LYS! So of course we had to make it. Takes concentration, and I think he could have made one different choice to make it more straightforward. So I’ve only gotten to Row 28.
Neither looks simple and easy for travel but both are gorgeous.
The crochet one is very basic stitches, so once a row is started, it really is pretty easy. The Jody Long is a “count every 18-stitch repeat every single time, no exceptions” one. And I neglected to bring anything for a lifeline…
Dental floss
is perfect for life line.
Nice work ColoCro
I thought of that, but forgot when I was at a pharmacy, and after that we were on a cruise, so…I just counted and counted and counted again. I’ve also gotten good at tinking through SKPs and dropping down columns of twisted stitches (WHY did I knit that through the back instead of purl???), and even repositioning YOs.
Also, instead of just checking that I have 18 stitches between markers, it’s best if I name off what they’re supposed to be as I recount. I’m on Row 32, and have now started to be able to read the pattern stitches better (oops, this YO shouldn’t be HERE, I must have missed something), so I’m hoping the rest will go more smoothly.
AND I forgot stitch-stoppers, but a lightbulb marker through the tightening hole on the needle works a treat! And is actually more secure.
The KAL is meeting at the yarn shop today, so that should be fun!
I’ve had to go back and name sts countless times. Great tip about the marker through the hole in the needle.
With very careful soaking and blocking, there was no bleeding, not even in the soak water. That’s a relief!
The cowl is a triumph. Beautiful colors and stunning stitch pattern. What a relief to find the yarns are color fast.
Whew! That’s an amazing piece. I’m so glad all is good.
Now I’ll check yarns to see if they are colorfast.
I learn so much from this site. Oftentimes, I don’t understand the person’s questions and I’m amazed that answers or suggestions are given.
Magnificent, it’s such a lovely display of stitches and colours!
I learn so much here too. Other people’s questions really help me to look at a much wider variety of patterns, questions, answers, tips and tricks than I would ever experience on my own. I am grateful every day for this forum and my knitting friends.
