What Type of Yarn Should I Use

I need yarn help. I’m making a bag/pocket to put an expensive/professional camera lense in. The bag isn’t going to be its only protection…just something to put it into before it goes into its holder. The only requirement from the photographer (my sister) is that it’s soft and doesn’t leave lint on the lense.

Any ideas? Acrylic blend? Washable wool? Soft Cotton? It has to be washable; but, it’s not something that will be washed all the time… :??

Maybe a microfiber like Lion Microspun?

Personally, I’d use silk, but I like spoiling my photo bug relatives.

I go with the microspun! i have made a tie with it and it is soft and doesn’t attract lint.

I agree! MicroSpun, or Debbie Bliss PURE SILK!
I’ve used both, and love them both. However, DB Pure Silk is not machine washable. Handwash only.

Either way, it will be really nice!

Thanks everybody! I started one with Caron SS and I’m going to look in my stash for some Microspun (I think I have some;) )

I doubled the SS and I’m doing a long rectangle so the fold will be at the bottom and I’ll seam the sides. I’ll post when I get done. I added a “buttonhole” handle and it looks pretty cool:cheering:

If I do 2, she’ll have a choice and the other one will make a great little purse/bag she can use for something else.

Thanks for all the ideas:knitting:
