in a moment of utter weakness, i succumbed to the draw of the handmaiden sea silk, and now i have 3 glorious skeins, in the colorway midnight - i bought it, patternless, in the hopes that i would find something that inspired me. i don’t see myself wearing a shawl, really, so i was thinking something more along the lines of a stole, maybe clapotis-like, but i don’t know how to adapt that pattern for a fingering weight yarn, and i’m not positive i have enough to double - all together, its about 1300 yards. sooo…if anyone has any suggestions, i am all ears - i have perused knittingpatterncentral.com, but i didn’t see anything that jumped out at me…
I am anxiously waiting for my 2 backordered skeins to make this http://www.colorsongyarn.com/shawl_stole/storm_water_shawl.htm
How about a summer tank top? Maybe something with spagettii straps.
Take a look at this list of stoles: http://lovetobikeandknit.blogspot.com/2006/05/rectangular-shawl-patterns.html
Maybe you will find something that you’ll like.
thank you so much for that list! i have still been hemming and hawing about what i want to make with my sea silk - this gives me lots of new ideas!
