podcasts! and the latest I’m loving is Itsjustmegan’s “Stitch-It!”
When I want something quick to knit, as a break from another large project, I usually sit down and knit a baby hat for charity. The hats are small enough that I can do them in a night or two and as a result I usually feel good about myself and my knitting for doing something for charity.
Right now I’m feeling all knit out from my Christmas knitting so I’ve decided to try dyeing my own yarn. It’s still knitting related so I don’t really feel like I’m abandoning my current projects. But sometimes, if you feel like you’re forcing yourself to knit, a break is the best thing.
When I am bored with my WIP’S…I knit up some stash dishcloths.
It seems like a worthwhile thing to do, with instant gratification!
I also knit a hat for Afghanistan and have knitted 3 in the past couple of weeks during the ‘must finish knitting’ projects for others…
I also bought new yarn and watched MASH on DVD… since, I’m in Korea… it was a little more ‘eye-opening’ and I feel like one of the ‘COOL KIDS’ in the know… since, I knew WHAT THEY WERE TALKING about on the show. (I had not really watched it when it was on TV and it doesn’t come on re-runs here, in Korea, where I live.)
So, I do all of my suggestions at the same time. But, I find ‘buying and petting new yarn’ is a good plan. AND, I do just make myself knit for a set amount of time on the ‘boring endless projects’ so, at least… I’m working on them.
ALL good suggestions everyone!
I’m glad I came across this thread - I’m going to use many of these suggestions.
Thank You
Mary
Thank you so much everyone for the ideas
I toodled around all of the links and finally decided to make an oddball bag. I pulled out all of my oddballs, decided on the blues, threw them in a bag and pulled out the booga bag pattern. It won’t be the same because it won’t felt, but it will use leftovers so I still feel like I am accomplishing something!:yay:
what about some hats? basic 2x2 ribbing at the bottom is perfect! hope this helps!:knitting:
