What stitch to knit a scrap blanket that isn’t garter or stockinette?

Something not to easy

I like mistake rib. It’s easy. What do you mean by “Something not to easy.”? Tumbling blocks is a nice pattern and might work well as a scrap blanket. I’ve only done it in a solid yarn.

What about a patchwork blanket so each square has a different knit pattern? That would hold interest over a larger project and you can use any stitch pattern for each square
Here’s a pattern

Or there are some nice free and paid for patterns here

There’s a lovely mosaic one there too

I haven’t one mosaic before, there are some beautiful patterns and more interesting to work than stockinette.
Depends what you’re in the mood for.

Pick your poison.

omg your a lifesaver, that stitch looks just perfect. to bad I can’t knit outside today, it has been storming since friday and were supposed to get tornadoes in omaha.

Be safe! Do you mean mistake rib? You could use it for a log cabin or try it in a ten stitch. I may be the only knitter in the world who doesn’t like the ten stitch pattern. I’m not crazy about log cabin. Something about things don’t line up and it bothers me. But - if you like them I think a cool stitch pattern incorporated with the design might be really cool.
