What stitch is this!?

I’d really like to duplicate this stitch but can’t seem to figure it out, I’d like to avoid unraveling it. I can’t anything on it anywhere. Hope someone here can recognize it.

It is a type of ribbing, the front side of it has about twice as many stitches as the back side. It looks like knit stitches are being knitted 2 or 3 times more than the purled stitches. Maybe they’re being dropped after the fact and then gathered into 1 stitch every 2 or 3 rows? Does this make sense?

I’ll take any thoughts and suggestions. TIA!
