What Needles?

Hello,

I’ve found a pattern for a new project I’d like to start with. The pattern on Raverly is by Little French Knits: 4 / Cardigan for Baby.

I’ve bought this pattern and trying to work out if it’s knitted with straight needles? I think it’s a top down pattern. Also does it look like the body will be knitted first and then the sleeves knitted as separate parts and attached?

Thanks for your help,

Joseph

Definitely top down. Looking through the projects on Ravelry gives you an idea of the various stages of knitting this cardigan.
The last photo here shows the set up in the round to near the split for the sleeves.

The 3rd photo in this project shows the sleeves split off ready to knit the rest of the body.

Circular needles make it easier to accomodate the stitches but you might be able to work this on straights too. In either case, it’s knit back and forth.
Some project knitters work the sleeves in the round but the directions may be for either in the round or flat knitting.
I just finished a Little French Knits cardigan and loved the pretty details and well-written pattern.
