What is YO Yarn Over?

I am a new knitter and I want to start this project, but what is YO and how do I find out how to do it?

Yarn over is a stitch that will make an eyelet and increase the number of stitches you have. (that’s why you have a decrease after it the K2TOG)

After you do your K1 then you wrap your yarn around the needle just like you do when you are doing a knit stitch but you don’t have it in another stitch.

Amy has a video of it here…

You can get there also by clicking on the glossary tab at the top of the page.

A YO is a type of increase. Amy has a video that shows how it’s done.

It’s on this page, at the bottom. http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/increases

Thanks guys!

Here is a great page from a lady’s blogthat covers yarn overs very well. It may have more than you want to know :-), but if you read through it at least you will have a better understanding of what is going on.

Also if others are reading this thread they might be interested in more depth.
