I have a lovely knitted cardigan for my 7 month old daughter. The stitch makes it soft, warm and stretchy. It is very easy to put on and take off. Now I just need to know how to knit this stitch, or what it is called so that I can make a larger cardie for when she grows out of this one. I have looked on the internet at stitch collections to no avail. Can anyone help?
See here for a photo.
Thank you in advance
Kath
Hi and welcome to KH! Can you post the picture here so everyone can see it, you may get more of a response. Hereis a thread that gives info on how to post a picture on KH

The photo is a hair fuzzy, but it looks like one of 2 possibilities to me. I’d swatch both and see what happens. (The first row is the Right Side/Outside in both patterns.)
-
Purl Ridges:
Row 1. Knit
Row 2. Purl
Row 3. K1 P1, repeat to end.
Row 4. Purl
-
Slip Stitch Ridges:
Row 1. Knit
Row 2. Purl
Row 3. Slip 1, K1, repeat to end.
Row 4. Purl
This is a picture of the stitch. I hope it is clear enough.
To anyone trying to figure this stitch out-- if you click on kath’s original link, the photo is more clear.
Sorry about the image. I don’t seem to be able to make it any clearer. Hopefully I will be able to get the needles out tonight and experiment with your suggestions.
This is the cardigan as a whole.
Thanks, yes that’s better! I just can’t make out if I’m seeing any purl bumps on the outside, and if I’m seeing any knit Vs on the inside. If there aren’t any, then I’d go with my second one. The first pattern I suggested just doesn’t look quite like it could it-- except that in a book, that pattern seems to produce what you’ve got in your photo, if you know what I mean. The 3rd possibility is a combination of the 2-- that is:
Row 1. Knit
Row 2. Purl
Row 3. Slip 1 knitwise, purl 1, repeat to end.
Row 4. Purl
Thank you Imrachel and Dustinac for your help. You set me on the right path. I had an experiment last night (between feeds) and I think I have it.
Row1. Knit
Row2. Purl
Row 3. Knit 1. Purl 1 into stitch below, Knit 1 repeat from * to end
Row 4. Purl
The purl into the row below seems to give it the… errr … bobbliness and softness.
It’s pretty and reminds me of the Trinity Stitch. I used it here - the Textured Chenille Sweatshirt pattern.
