What is Kfb and seed stitch?

In a baby hat pattern, it says to do this in the 2nd row:
K1,Kfb,K to last 2 stitches,Kfb,K1
I would like someone to explain how to Kfb.

In a baby bootie pattern, it says to do some rows of seed stitch.
What is a seed stitch?

Thanks for your help!!! Kit8http://www.knittinghelp.com/forum/images/smilies/aug08_025.gif

Welcome to Knitting Help!

KFB is an increase. It means knit into the stitch normally, but don’t slide it off the needle, then knit into the back of the stitch and slide them off the needle. Go to the glossary tab above and find KFB to see the video or go to videos and look at the increase page.

Seed Stitch is a stitch pattern. You k1, p1 across the row and turn. Then you knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches as they face you.

To understand this you need to know that each stitch has two sides. One side is a knit side the other a purl. Here’s a sample that shows what they look like.

Thank you!!!
