What is k1p1 in every yo?

Hi I am fairly new to knitting, I am working on a bag and there are directions in the pattern for row 2 which states “P across and K1 P1 in every yo” am not sure what to do. DonnaJ  . I

Did you do YO’s in the previous row? If so, they may be talking about the holes left from the YO’s – are you making eyelets?

You’re supposed to do an increase by knitting and purling into the one stitch created by the yo on the previous row.

In the row before it states k1,SSK, yo, K2tog, k2; repeat from end K1.

Thanks for the help!
