Is it the same as a normal cable shown here in the video?
Never heard of that, and google isn’t of help either, so I’m at a total loss. What would a faux cable be? Something imitating a cable without being a cable???
What would that be?
Oh, that reminds me of a scarf, falling waters I think it was called, it used very easy stitches, never cable stitches, but produced a somewhat cabled look. Maybe it’s that.

here you can see it. It’s a lacy pattern
All I know is you don’t use a cable need and it’s is also called a Mock Cable?
Don’t know if that’s right though. I was hoping someone would know for sure.
Always wanting to learn more about knitting.
I’ve got the Vogue Stitchionary for Knit and Purl and there’s a pattern in there for a mini cable that doesn’t use a cable needle, but looks like a cable. Would that might be it?
Here’s what it looks like:
It looks like it may be a variation of a twisted stitch. You would knit into the 2nd st on the left needle, then into the first. If there’s 3 sts involved, you’d knit into the 2nd and the 3rd, then into the 1st one. Probably.
That’s cool! I like the texture look of it. I have to try thatsuzeeq.
I just realized the picture that Sknitter56 posted has the 3rd st knit first, from the front. Then you’d knit the 1st and 2nd sts.
Here is a link to how to produce the mini cable that Sknitter references:

Ahhh, great, that’s the exact stitch. And it’s done just like I thought.
That’s cuz you are SO good!! :cheering:
I don’t always figure them out though…
