What have you made with Malabrigo?

I just bought myself a skein of malabrigo last weekend, it was on sale for 30% off, so I figured I’d give it a try… Everyone has sooo much good stuff to say about it, and it felt so nice in the store, I figured I could handle paying about $13 for it… Anyways, I think I’m going to try making a hat with it, since I’ve found so many cute hat patterns…

How did the hooded scarf turn out? I’ve been drooling over that pattern and the sort of shrug/shawl too.

I have made a pair of mittens and matching rainy day scarf, and I am now making a booga in mmmmmm.

For the short sleeve, the pattern calls for 500-800 yards of worsted (they used Artyarns Supermerino). The long sleeve calls for 800-1100 yards. I have heard that many people have used more yarn than the pattern calls for.

Hope that helps! :sun:

I seriously don’t want to sound like a total ignoramus, but WHAT THE HECK ARE ALL THESE PATTERNS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?
What’s a clapotis, etc.?

here are some of the patterns

clapotis
scrunchable scarf

most of the patterns mentioned are popular ones, you can always do a search through google and usually find the pattern and lots of pics to look at

I bought two skeins at 65 yards each. Does anyone have a scarf pattern they suggest? I’m a long thinner type scarf person. Thanks!

LOL! It sounds like a disease, doesn’t it? :ick:

I’m sorry, I can’t come in to work today. I have clapotis.

I ordered it here:

I ordered it early last week and got a quick reply from them that they would be ordering it on Wednesday and would let me know when it is ready to ship. I have no idea where they are ordering it from and haven’t heard from them since then. I’ll let you know how long it takes…

I hope this ends up being a good online source - they have some really nice stuff! :inlove:

Thanks, Jeannette! I hope it all goes well

You know, if I worked, I would try that. As it stands…I may pull it on dh and see what he does.

I would think it could work for other things, too.

“I’m sorry honey, I couldn’t do all the dusting today. My dang clapotis is acting up again”

“Oh I’m sorry, I couldn’t pick up your dry cleaning… The dang clapotis on the car is squeaking again!”

“I can’t babysit your kids today, I’m having a pretty bad flair up of Clapotis”

Vicki, :roflhard:

I love this yarn, it’s so soft and easy to work with. I have made one pair of socks so far and have started my second pair. My daughters can’t wait to put on their cozy socks and snuggle up in front of the fireplace this next winter. I even have requests from other people to knit socks for them too.
