Hi new here and to knitting,
Trying to knit a blanket in the flat on circular needles.
Cast on went ok (300 stitches later),
Knitted first row in 2x2 rib and when I got to the end i’m still connected by a long bridge thing.
Could I cut and tie it turn the knitting and start the next row? It’s a complete mess and I’m not sure what I’ve done or how to fix it.
Any help appreciated
Welcome to KH!
You could cut the yarn in the middle and weave in on each side but since you’ve just begun, really you’ll be happier starting over. Ugh, I know, 300sts but no sense gettting farther along and then deciding you don’t like the fudging at the beginning.
The easiest way to avoid this is to put a marker at the beginning of the row so that you know to turn and not inadvertently connect in the round.

Thanks for your reply, reckon I will start over.

I’ve done this before. It’s annoying, frustrating, irritating…the list could go on. But yeah, starting over and making sure you turn the work is the way to go.
