What does "Turn" mean in a pattern?

I’m new to knitting and I’m not quite sure I understand what my pattern is trying to tell me to do. Can someone decipher this for me?

“K27. Turn. Cast on 1 st. P13 (including cast on st). Turn. Cast on 1 st. K14”

How do I “Turn”??

Thanks!

basically you are pretending you are at the end of the row (assuming that you aren’t actually) and turning and going back the other direction.

I haven’t encountered “Turn” yet.

I wonder if it’s the same as a “Wrap & Turn” or “W&T” for short?

  1. Slip one stitch.
  2. pull yarn to front.
  3. Slip stitch back to where it came from.
  4. Turn work to reverse side and contine knitting in the opposite direction.

I’m pretty sure if you don’t pull the yarn in front of that slipped stitch you will end up with a hole.

Sometimes if a pattern is felted, though, they don’t bother with the wrap, or where the gap wouldn’t present a problem.
