What does this mean?

I have started a baby blanket for my soon to be born Grandson and have come to this row and don’t know what to do or how.
K3, p6, * (p1, k1} 3 times in next st, p 12, repeat from * across to last 10 sts. ending { p1, k1 } 3 times in next st., p6, k3
What does it mean 3 times in next st. and how is it done.??
Thanks so much for any help you can give me. I am a beginner knitter and have only completed a baby blanket and a shawl , this is a tulip design baby blanket I am trying now.

(p1 k1) 3 times into the next st means to p1 k1 p1 k1 p1 k1 into one st. Don’t pull this tightly or it will make it very difficult. There’s a video for making 3 sts in 1 st and you would just continue with 3 more sts before slipping the st off the left needle. The tulip design is very pretty and should make a lovely baby blanket.

It may be easier to p yo p yo p into the one st which should end up looking the same.
