about to start a new project. pattern states: Head and Body(make 2 - beg at top). does this mean i make this pattern twice then sew together? it’s a stuffed wacky jelly pattern from michaels.
What does this....mean?
Is that the actually name of the design? I tried looking it up and nothing came up. It’s hard to tell without seeing it.
It sounds to me like the head and body are probably one piece. So you’d make two of them so there is a front and a back.
Linking to the pattern when asking questions helps tremendously.
i tried looking for a link and could not find one. thank you for your help. i looked at the picture more and agree with you. that is the name in the book. the book is called “Wacky Friends”. the front also has on front cover–loops and threads yarn gang.
Is it a book from Michaels? Loops and Threads is their new brand I think. I didn’t see anything called Wacky Friends. Huh.
yes it is from michaels. i went on their website for info. they have loops and threads, but does show anything regarding the yarn gang yarn and pattern books(there are four little project books). the characters are cute and i want to make make some for some friends children. at this time i do not have a way of scanning in the picture.
I’ve seen a link from ravelry, it’s for the Yarn gang yarn.
i solved the immediate problem–i graphed it out. i normally do not do that with knitting projects–but it worked for this one. thank you for your help.
Danette,
I’ve been trying to start the same pattern. Maybe you can help me. I don’t understand how to cast on two stitches at teh beginning of the 3rd row. How does that work? And I’m switching to the white yarn at the same time, right?
I don’t know about switching yarn colors but you can cast on by knitting on. With the stitches in your left hand, knit into the first one but leave it on the needle. Put the new stitch on the left needle and knit into it too, then put that new stitch on the left. Then go ahead and work across the new sts and the old ones.

I ended up using the cable cast on. There is a video on this web site for that. It helped a great deal. I am a english knitter(I hold the the yarn in my right hand).
When switching colors–bring the 2nd color in front of the 1st. Drop the first color and hold the 2nd in what ever hand you hold your yarn when knitting. It helps in consistancy on the edges that you do this whenever you change colors. As the rows go on, it will get easier.
I also found it easier to do the increase in the first and last stitch in whatever row an increase is required. I tried the yarnover at first, but did not like it as it left a hole. I found an increase in the back of a mag. that worked for me. Two stitches in one stitch. It works both for knit and purl.
As soon as i got over the first hurdle this project is turning out pretty cute.:happydance:
