What does end with a ws row mean?

Newbie question:

Am knitting in stocking stitch and the pattern says to end with a ws row.

Does this mean that the last row I knit is a purl row, or does it mean that when I finish, the ws side is facing me?

It means that the last row you work is a purl row.

If there’s ever any doubt, check the instructions for the next row to see if it’s a right side or wrong side row.
