I’m contemplating knitting a Huggable hedgehog is fingering weight yarn… Want to make a lot for gifts, and don’t have $10 to dish out for each.
How much yarn do you think it would take? Waiting to get some money and going to buy several skeins of KP’s Palette yarn… I think it would be under on roll, but… :?
If it took one roll, 1.99, plus fun fur, 2.99… (half a skein I’m pretty sure… Equals about 3.48.
Is this just such a crazy idea that no one knows what to say?? (the pattern is under felted toys at fibertrends.com)
The yarn recommended for the hedgehog is worsted weight. From their info on Ravelry:
Yarn Requirements: Choose a worsted weight yarn that will felt easily and firmly and a thick “fur-like” synthetic novelty yarn. Shown in Tussock 10 ply and Naturelle, both with Temptation for the “fur” and Perendale for the paws. All yarns from Naturally New Zealand Yarns.
Yardage: Approximately 165 yards main wool; 100 yards of the novelty yarn; 10 yards of darker wool for paws.
I don’t know that anyone has ever made one in fingering weight yarn like Palette and therefore can’t help you. This doesn’t mean you can’t do it, just that no one knows. Sorry.
I’ve made 10 of these using the suggested weight yarns… LOL (How I managed to make 8 of those in 2 months, I have NO CLUE!!) Anywayz, if we still have internet, I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Well, based on your first post I had no idea you’d ever made them before. Good luck.
Sorry… Sometimes I’m a little “un-clear” LOL
