My avatar is knittin up a storm today…I’m on my sil’s computer and I’m not sure if it’s the computer or what? When dh made it he didn’t knit quite so fast…today it looks like his needles might start a fire…maybe he’s trying to encourage me to get going?! LOL…
anyone know why this might be happening…does it have to do w/ the refesh rate of the computer or something?
it also looks like the bottom edge of your av is losing some pixels or something every few “stitches” Looks like the bottoms is wavy… I didn’t notice that before any time.
my point exactly…it’s doing really strange things. I’m at home now and he’s back to a normal pace…
I’ll have dh check it out when he gets time…we’ve been working in the yard all afternoon and I’m sure the last thing he wants to do is slow up a lizard w/ addis! LOL…
It doesn’t look different to me. And it really shouldn’t look different on different computers - the frame rate should be set by the animation program.
thats what I would think buy dh swears that the only answer could be something different from computer to computer…it is different now on my home computer from what it was on my sil’s computer this weekend. I mean he looked like he was having a seizure…
The frame rate should be the same from computer to computer, but only if the computer is fast enough to display it at the intended frame rate. If the frame rate is set at, say, 120 fps (way too high!) and the computer only has enough resources to show 30 fps, it’s going to take a lot longer to get through the same number of frames, and the animation will look slower. It’s all in the way the avvie was set up originally, and in how much brainpower the compy can access how fast.
That’s if it’s doing it consistently, of course. Every once in a while, my compy gets bored and decides to speed things up, but a refresh usually cures that.
Does your SIL have a Mac? We have Macs at work, and when I look at an animated gif there, it goes really…slowly… until all the frames are loaded into cache, then it flies along at a totally unnaturally high speed. That’s my only suggestion.
