What am I dong wrong?

I’m making slippers

The pattern says:
“ROW 1: - wrong side - K9 (9-11), p1, k7 (9-11), p1, k9, (9-11).
ROW 2: K all sts.
Repeat these 2 rows for 5 (6-8) ins”

its suppose to look like this:

but mine isn’t making that pattern. Instead the "v"s suddenly switch sides. I have no idea why.

What am I doing wrong? LoL

You’re probably losing count of how many rows you’ve done and which side you’re working on. Try putting a marker of some kind–a safety pin, piece of colored yarn, whatever–on what you want to be the right side to remind you to knit all of those stitches.

Are they knit in the round? If so you might be working on the inside of the circle of knitting instead of the outside…

I think I had nearly the same idea that Jan had, only I was thinking on DPNs.
