What am I doing wrong in lace pattern?

I am now trying to knit the panel and am nearly crying with frustration. What am I doing wong?

When the pattern says K2, yf, skpo. Do I K2 bring my yarn forward,slip the next stitch, bring my yarn back to knit the next stitch or do I leave it fwd & knit the stitch, before passing the slipped stitch over. I am obviously doing something wrong in the first row which is:

K1, *[k2, yf,skpo] 3 times, p2, yon, k4,skpo, k6, k2tog, k4, yrn, p2; repeat from * twice more, [k2,yf,skpo] 3 times, K1

Something like that. I usually just wrap the yarn around the needle and leave in back then slip and knit the next sts so the slip st and YO don’t get crossed. The yon is a YO from a purl to a knit and you just loosely lay the yarn over the top from the front to the back.

so the yarn fwd actually goes over the slipped & knitted stitch? I hav just tried that and it looks hopeful. Thank you. Will let you know how I proceed!

No the yf/yo doesn’t go over the knit and slipped sts, it stays where it is.

Knit 2, YO (wrap the yarn around the needle as if you were knitting a stitch), slip 1, k1, pass the slipped st over the k1.
