Snowball arrived today - 2 blankets arriving in 3 days, I had better go get busy! Thanks, dimpledapple, for the goodies!
Oh, and I assume that the blue rings on the blankets indicate the knitted border - right?
Thanks!

Yes, they sure do!
Here’s a picture of Chocolate Covered Cherries, posted by wsnels over on Ravelry:
Since Snowball came with yarn, I decided to start on it first.
Since I’m a new knitter and have 2 blankets in my possession, I decided to just do simple garter stitch in an effort to keep the blankets moving. I finished my section last night (the same day it arrived) and am quite proud because I was thinking it would take a long time. Of course I’d be the one who had to start the new yarn, hopefully I did that right!
Here’s a picture of Snowball with my section added:

Here’s Fruity Pebbles when I received it (I don’t think there were previous pictures, sorry if this is a repeat):

I hope that you can see the images, I’m trying out inserting them from Flickr and they show up as ? for me, but if not, try the links!
Hopefully I’ll get to the store today and get some yarn so I can work on this one and get it moving!
Thanks!
Bailey, the blankets are gorgeous! Thank you for the pictures! I’m inserting them here and will post them on Ravelry and the blog (I have a lot of updating to do there!).
You’re doing a TERRIFIC job!!!
Here’s Snowball:

And here’s Fruity Pebbles:

Hi all! I just wanted to let you know that I’ve updated the blog with all of the newest pictures of our blankets, along with the list of who’s finished their sections of which blankets…
I’m going to need a pinch-knitter for Lollipop and a finisher for Snowball.
Anyone interested?
Knittinmitchie, did you ever receive Spearmint Twist? Please let me know. Thanks!
Finisher as in border or as in sixth section? Either way, I can work on it again unless someone else wants to step in!
Hmmm…you’re already set to knit the 5th section of Lollipop. I’ll just leave you as is. Unless you want to knit the 4th and 5th sections…totally up to you.
I put down Kaniger for the border of Snowball.
Y’all are always so generous as far as volunteering for additional blankets! Thank you!!

Hi I have Spearmint Twist. Now I need to go find some yarn.
I can do another section on Snowball since I have it. If you’re still needing someone. Otherwise, I’m ready to send it, so just let me know where it’s going!
Thanks,
I’m still waiting to hear back from the next knitter. I’ll PM you when I do! Thanks for working so quickly.
Sure. If you can’t find a pinch knitter, I can knit two sections :knitting:
Thanks for the offer! Wsnels is going to knit the section before you. She just volunteered.

Well I’ve got good news and bad news. I’ll give you the bad first we’re moving good news I’ll OFFICIALLY be part of the west coast group now. Rumor has it we’re moving to Alaska
Hopefully someone can help me find my answer quickly:
When I’m trying to figure out what stitch to use for my section and I’m looking at the “Recommended Stitch Designs for Oddball Baby Blankets” section how do I count how many stitches I’m working with? There are 85 on this particular blanket, but 6 are the knitted border, so is that 79 for the pattern? Not many work for this number - does that matter? For example, Checks and Ridges is multiple of 4 +2 which would get me only 78. I hope this makes sense, I want to try something other than garter stitch but don’t want anything too complicated.
Thanks so much!
Yes, you will be working with 79 stitches for the pattern. I think the “Recommended Stitch Designs” post accounts for the 6 border stitches, so if it says 100 stitches, that means the pattern is to be worked in 94 stitches. When you click on the link the page it takes you to will tell you that the pattern is worked in multiples of x stiches.
I think for the number of stitches you have you could do Double Basketweave (multiple of 4 +3) or if you want something simpler, then you could do moss stitch.
Hope that helps!
Oh wow! What a HUGE move!!!
I don’t see how that’s bad news, though? :??
When are you set to move?
Flower Power is ready to travel!

Oh gosh…I think that those colors are my favorite so far!!! Nice job ladies!!
I arrived home from work today and found Kiwi Surprise wating for me in my mailbox along with lovely gifts from Pinnut. Thanks so much, they will be put to good use!
Off to knit.

I’m with Nathalie, I love the colors, but unfortunately my camera (or more likely my non existent camera skills) washed them out :nails:
