Well i took the plunge..and got a wheel! (now with pics)

that may be the problem, the weight of the yarn

i’ve only used worsted weights for my leaders
if it’s commercial yarn try splitting the ends so it has something to grab on to
hope that helps!

If your still having problems getting it to stick, Tie a small loop in the end and put your roving etc through the loop and spin onto its self. That works for me when I’m having problems. When your taking it off, just cut or break the end before the leader.

I use all types of leaders, from cotton to acrylic to wool. Just type a loop at the end, then when you start your fiber, loop a little bit through the loop on the leader and spin the fiber back on its self.

I don’t cut or break the end of the fiber, but untwist where you spun it back on itself.
