Well, at least it started out as a good day

It’s my birthday today and it’s the most beautiful day of the year so far here in New England. My yarn haul from Knit Happens came this morning and my ds and I planned a day out in the yard, working in the garden and cleaning our pond.

I just got a call from my aunt who lives a few miles away from my parents (they are both 79 this year) and my dad is at the ER waiting to hear if he is in Renal Failure. He had been to see his urologist yesterday and they had run some tests and he got a call this morning telling him to go straight to the ER.

My mom is in severe pain from disk problems due to arthritis and osteoporosis and she has Parkinsons and really can’t be left alone for very long – despite what she thinks or says.

To complicate matters, my dh is in Dallas til tomorrow. So I’m just waiting to hear if I need to make the near 3 hour drive to be with her or if she will stop being stubborn and stay overnight with her sister (who can’t stay at my mom’s house cause she’s taking care of her husband who is also an invalid.)

So if you have a few minutes, think of me and my parents.

Thanks so much everyone,

I’m breathing a sigh of relief. It’s just a stone. A BIG ONE.

But that’s all and it comes out tomorrow.

Whew – we all thought it would be worse.

Well first, Happy Birthday.

Second, you and your family are in my thoughts.

I’m sorry to hear about your dad, but glad it’s not renal failure. Happy Birthday!

Thank goodness it wasn’t renal failure! Happy Birthday!
