Welcome, BettyBea! We seem to have many similarities. I am also from a southern state (Texas), and I am a former homeschooler. My dd just turned 22, but I homeschooled her from the 3rd through 12th grade. We had an 11 year old golden retriever (half lab, actually) until recently, when diabetes got the best of her :crying:, and I just came upon my year of jubilee. :lol:
Oh, and I LOVE to knit, too, though I’m not that good at it yet. :wall: I’m working on it and improving, though. I look forward to seeing you around here, and if you’re interested in a supportive homeschooling forum, check out my link below.

Hi there! Welcome!
I’ve visiting the site countless times, but only recently joined. I have been taking knitting classes since the fall. Even so, I frequently journey to this site to figure out this or that stitch/technique. I started knitting because I wanted to learn something new. As it turns out, it has become a highly addictive hobby – I haven’t met a project I haven’t liked! I love felting – hats, purses, slippers. The forgiving nature of felting helped me build my confidence while teaching me a zillion new techniques. I am now working my way toward projects where you can still see my stitches. My first sweater and socks are wearable, so I think I’m doing OK.
Now, if I can only find a way to make a living knitting . . .

I love listening to audiobooks while I knit! It’s perfect!

:waving: Welcome Marley! I started knitting a few months ago, and never thought I would attempt half the things I have. My biggest ambition was to be able to knit a hat and scarf. Now Ive worked on bags, hats, scarves, dog sweaters, and I never in a million years thought I would knit a pair of socks, but Im half way through my second sock! Every finished project gives me the confidence to go on and try something new!

you can always spread your knitting wings with a Knit along! Check out the KAL forum and see what’s what… we’re starting a design your own sweater in a week or 2…if you can knit, purl, decrease, and multiply you know alllll you need to know!
