Hi, my name is Patti, 70 year old retired FNP. I knit as a way to reduce stress. Thanks for your forum!
Hi Patti! Lovely to have you here!
Hi Patti,
welcome to the forum! I am a self-taught knitter. I taught myself to knit from a booklet I bought back in 1974. I was in high school at that time. I turn 69 this coming Oct.
Hi Amy, thanks for the warm welcome! I am Jones mike. excited to join this knitting community. I’m new to knitting but eager to learn techniques and share ideas. I’ll check out the “How-To Questions” forum and search for tips as you suggested. Thanks for the signup video—super helpful! Looking forward to connecting with everyone and posting about my knitting journey. Happy knitting!
Hello everyone! My name is Chris and I’m new to this site. I’m actually really excited to be here because I love knitting and love learning from others. I’ve been knitting consistently for bout 5 years now and I’m self taught. I have watched many videos for slot of stitches. My favorite item to make are afghans. But I also do pocket shawls, scarves (of course) so far I have three different patterns I work with. I’ve also done baby blankets. Dish cloths and mug rugs.
I’m also into arts and crafts and baking. I actually did my first show last October, that was scarry. Oh I love making yarn gnomes and macabre gnomes.
That’s the skinny on me, I hope I didn’t bore you!

Hi, I’m FB from FL
Hello my name is Christina and I’m stuck on instructions for a baby bonnet that I just can’t quite figure out. Can I send you the instructions to see if someone can help me?
Welcome to KH!
You can give us a row or two of the directions that are causing the problem. Or you can post a photo of a small portion of the pattern. Please don’t post a large portion of the pattern due to designer copyright.
Tell us the name of the pattern and designer, too. Best to post in How to or in General Knitting but posting here is ok if necessary.
Hello to all,
Could anyone guide me as to how to send a photo that will appear at the top of a post on the knitting forum website. I tried it once by uploading a photo (and clicking on the landscape icon) but the photo didn’t appear…just a link, which when opened did show the photo.
Any guidance would be helpful.
Thank you.
You might try uploading the photo then waiting a minute to see that it appears before clicking Reply and posting. If you have a preview screen to the right of the Reply box, you should be able to see the photo when it uploads.
It may also be that the photo is too large and needs to be resized before uploading. Sites like https://picresize.com/ can be used for that.
That’s great info, salmommac. I’ll follow it next time I need to post a photo.
Thank you
See if it works and report back!
Hi. I would like to join this forum. The video that describes how to subscribe will not open. Is there another way to join?
Thanks,

Hello everyone, I am new here.
I’ve been knitting for the last 2 years and I’ve challenged myself on several occasions with some advanced patterns.
Today I have a knitted hat with chin straps that was knitted by my grandma more than 30 years ago. Since she’s not with us anymore, I can’t ask how she’s done a very particular detail on that hat.
Is there a way you could help me with decoding what she’s done if I send you the photos?
Love,
Mim
Welcome to KnittingHelp!
Taking on a new challenge is a good way to learn all sorts of new techniques in knitting. The knit hat sounds intriguing. Post a new topic in one of the other forum categories, Pattern Central, How-to or General Knitting.
