I posted this on Ravelry but want to share here too. My grandson just got back from a tour of duty in Iraq. He flew into Huston Airport from Germany and there was a welcoming group of people from the Dallas area to greet the plane. The soldiers also got a special welcome from the airport Fire Dept. They showered the plane with water from their fire hoses. Congratulations to the people of Dallas Texas your tribute was very much appreciated.
Welcome home soldiers
Glad your grandson is home safely! Thank him for his service, from another Vet.
Sounds like a ‘WOW’ reception from the airport FD.
I too am a vet. I will be glad to pass on your request.
Yes about the “shower” that is usually reserved for an airline captain when he comes in with his last flight before retiring.
:woot: Thank your Grandson for his service. I am so proud of all our young men and women who serve our Country to keep us safe. That was a terrific reception and they deserve it.
I’m so glad your grandson got home safe. My own son has been over twice. I am so grateful for their service.
I am so glad that your grandson is home safe. There is no other feeling in the world like seeing them step off that plane.
He had to go directly to his post but today he will be flying home for a visit. We are all very excited.
