hello, fine knitters,
just wondering if there’s, like, a real way to weave in tails. i confess that when i do it, i just make it up and try to hide the little tail as well as i can, but it doesn’t always look good, especially on scarves.
i just finished a scarf with an inch of garter stitch on either end. does anyone have any favorite methods for tail weaving?
thanks much.
happy wednesday.

I think there is a video here in KH, but I can’t find it. Give this site a try.

jan,
thanks for the link.
how fine to know that there’s actually a technique to this! i’m gonna try it!

You mean there’s actually a technique for that??? I’ve always just meandered down around a few rows. Learn something new every day!:cheering:
I just duplicate stitch them in. When I’m on ribbing, I just weave them in and out of the column of knit stitches.
contiknitter,
what’s a duplicate stitch? forgive my ignorance, but i’m a fairly new knitter.
best thursday,

Here is a link to the instructions.

It is also called Swiss Darning, and instead of using a different color, I just use the tail yarn. With this you have to leave about a 10" tail.
