Weaving in ends...Is that it?

This might be a silly question, but when finishing a project, do you need to tie a knot or anything else to ensure it won’t unravel with wear?

Or do you just weave in the ends, and that keeps it from unraveling and coming apart?

I very rarely tie knots. I usually just weave in the ends as it feels like it looks more nicer, more professional. On rare occasions I have tied a knot though.
