Watermelon hat!

Is this cute or what? I needed something to perk me up on Saturday esp with my DH away for the weekend and this certainly was the ticket.

Making another one already, going to sell this one but now I’ve got to have one for me!

Did you make up the pattern??? It’s adorable!! :inlove:

KAH-YOOT!

I was wondering about the seeds too! You must have been anxious to get them on if they are duplicate stitch and it’s not even officially done yet! LOL

YUM!! I love watermelon. That is so cute! Great job~

If she used this pattern it’s stranded I think. I just printed it out and am going to try it, too!

Oh my gosh, what a huge bunch of compliments! Wow.
Thanks! No, those seeds arene’t duplicate stitch. You knit them in as you go. (and carry the yarn) Thing is, this person’s pattern says to do
k4, 1 black stitch then 4 rows of red then k4, 1 black, k2, 1 black

I decided it was looking too precise or structured and a real watermelon would have them scattered around more so I put in extra here and there.

It’s a big hat though, the top is biggish so the next one I’m making I’m doing my own decreases.

Here’s the original pattern to the creative designer:
