What is waste yarn? I just saw this in a pattern and have never heard of it. :???:
In what context? Do they mean using waste yarn to hold stitches or to mark a place in the row? That would mean using odds and ends of yarn that you may have in your stash.
“With waste yarn, CO 18 sts.”
Just any old leftover yarn, doesn’t matter the context. Chances are, after you CO, then knit a row or 3 with it, you’re to switch over to the yarn you’re going to knit the item with and later, will take out the rows with the scrap yarn and either pick up stitches or graft 2 pieces together.
That was exacty it. Thanks.
