Waste yarn/ Kitchener stitch

Hi,
I’ve searched the board and I’m still not clear about how to slip stitches of each section of a child’s cardigan onto waste yarn. I’m making my first sweater…it’s the Daisy Cardigan www.thegarterbelt.com/complimentaries/DaisyCardigan.pdf

worked in one piece from the top down and it’s now time to shape the left front sleeve, back, sleeve, right front onto a separate piece of waste yarn. Can anyone help? Thanks!

They want you to slip those stitches onto waste pieces of yarn–to use as stitch holders. Use a tapestry needle and just pull the yarn through the stitches that are on the needle and then slip them off.
