WARNING: Female Topic: Any one with a Mirena?

Call the doctor - this isn’t just a little bit of cramping or what I’ve heard of as “normal” side effects. If you can’t get in to see someone, try an Urgent Care center.

call the doctor, please. and take care of yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

Any updates or relief? I hope your feeling better.

Late yesterday, my body decided it did not want the IUD anymore. Very painfully came out, called the doctor, and she will see me in a month. Must admit I am feeling more energy (sort of), headache is now down to a dull throb that I can not only deal with, but can still take care of my children and knit with. And the best part is about 2 hours after it came out, the bleeding went down to a trickle. God is good.

Let me know how everybody else is doing. I hope everyone feels as good as I do.

Oh, I’m so glad you are feeling better!

Misty:grphug:

Uhff, glad you’re feeling better but really sorry you had to go through that, that’s horrible. Here’s to hoping you feel back to normal soon and that you can find some sort of solution.

I’m sorry to hear about the problems you had with this device… I honestly am considering getting one at the first of the year and am now a little more leery.

Flea, find out what your reactions are to progesterone. I am very sensitive to it, and my reactions might not be what your reactions are. DH and I have decided no more children, so we will be doing permanent solution.

 msmelody, I’m so sorry you went through that. pls keep in touch with your doctors regarding contraceptive options.

How awful, I bet you had an allergic reaction to it. I’m sorry you had to go through that.

I have had the Mirena for two years, it was inserted within a minute or two, and I wasn’t knocked out. It was no more painful than getting a pap. I have suffered from heavy bleeding due to endometriosis for many years, and while I do have less bleeding during my periods now, they are still heavy and last for days. And I spot all month long now, most every day, as well. Still, some relief is better than none, before I was literally housebound for a few days each month.

I have had Mirena for almost 4 years, and I have to say I am jealous that they knocked you out! I was awake, and since I had never had a natural delivery, it hurt like CRAZY!! And it hurt for about a week. But now I forget I have it, and I hardly ever even have any spotting. Its great. And I plan to get it again and again and again

I too have the Mirena and its brilliant. I didn’t get knocked out when it was inserted but I did have to get my cervix frozen as I’ve never had children. I was offered the Mirena as I kept forgetting to take my pill at the same time every day. The type I was on I had a small window of time to take it.

I did have the 6 months bleeding but as I was usually very heavy it didn’t bother me.It tapered to spotting for a week at a time. I’ve had it almost a year now and I’ve not had a bleed since june/july time.

My fiance and I have no intention of having children. He’d even go for the snip but he’d have to go private as the NHS won’t do it because he has no children.

When the time comes to have it replaced I will be doing so.
